Choosing a Wedding Venue.. Important things to consider.

Wedding Venue Choices, some things to consider …

Congratulations you’re engaged! Now let the fun begin and start planning for the big day. Before you begin your search, there are a few things you’ll want to take into consideration:

Once you have an idea of these three key things, your search for the perfect wedding venue begins.

  1. Capacity of venue

Always ask for the minimums and maximums when searching for a venue.  The last thing you would want is to find out that you don’t meet the venues requirements.  If your venue is too small, guests will feel crowded and uncomfortable. However, having too much room can make the space feel deserted. Guest lists can get a little tricky when planning for the big day. I always tell couples to have your A, B and C list. Start from C and work your way up moving the most important people to A.

  1. Location

Location is key when searching for the perfect venue. Whether you’re hosting your event close to home or planning the big day in a different city, state, or country, you need to think about the logistics of getting everyone to your event site.  Keep in mind where your guests are coming from. Is the venue located near public transportation? Are there hotels in the surrounding areas? All of these simple details can make a huge difference for your guests! Setting up room blocks at nearby hotels and setting up shuttle services will help to ensure your wedding day goes off without a hitch.

  1. Services and Amenities

When searching for the perfect venue, find out what services are and are not included in the packages. You’ll need to decide if you want a venue that provides everything, or a venue that is a blank canvas.

It definitely helps to know beforehand what you’re looking for along the lines of venue amenities.

Keep these three simple things in mind when choosing the wedding venue.

Think of the venue as your starting point, once you both agree that the venue feels like the right place for your celebration, everything else will start to fall into place!

Happy planning!
